Spirit Wind Records Bio

By Jesse Red Horse

I first met Dail last September at one of my appearances and we had a wonderful visit, talked about flutes and I got to hear her play a little and I was instantly amazed by her honesty regarding her music.

Dail has been playing the native love flutes for the past six years and has about 30 public appearances to her credits not to mention two Great CD's "Deep Reflections and Northern Lights" for the public to enjoy.

During a recent phone call to her I inquired as to her flute family and she is the proud custodian of a flute stable of 20 finely crafted flutes from a few makers.

The first thing that strikes a person when meeting Dail is her passion for Native American music and most Natives find it refreshing that she is straight forward about not having any known native heritage.

This in no way takes away from her native spirit that flows through her flutes, to hear this woman play is a true treat for fans of native music and for seasoned players as well.

She is for the most part self taught and I must say she is one heck of a student and teacher.

Recently Dail honored me by sending me a copy of her two CD's, when I received them I did not listen to them right away as I always like to set aside enough time to listen to anyone's CD's from start to finish.

As I sat in my studio and listened to her creations my Soul was lifted to heights that it has not felt in a long time.

As each song filled the room I was taken on a new journey and I could hardly wait for the next track, her sound is unique and brutally honest, I was amazed that this artist hadn't had her own concert tour at this time.

Remarkable control over her notes as well as some heart felt change ups that I personally have never heard from another player, she has earned 5 out of 5 stars from this web site.

Now it gets even better, I asked her if she would join us for the 5th annual Mothers day concert to be held at The White Feather Native American Center located at the Mountain Valley Mall in North Conway, NH just off Rt. 16......so I invite you all to come take a listen to this rising star yourself on May 8th, 2005. ( concert from 1:00 PM - 5 PM )

Dail will be doing two sets and I believe that she will have some copies of her CD's for sale during the intermission and at the conclusion of the concert.

I look forward to hearing her play once again and I will continue to support this top ranking player for years to come.

If you are looking to book this bright talent for your Powwow or event you may contact her directly at [207] 627-4352.

I was first introduced to Dail by Jesse Red Horse in May, for the 2005 Mother's Day Music Concert at the White Mountain Native American Cultural Center in North Conway, NH. Jesse Red Horse invited Dail to join us for this fun, musical event. When she played for us, we all were pleased and amazed by her beautiful music.

When meeting Dail, her passion for music is apparent, and she plays from her heart, and soul. Her music is a blend of traditional Native American style with some mellow jazz and blues components with rippling tones and overtures intermixed to make for great listening..

To hear Dail play any one of her beautiful flutes, is a true treat to ones senses and ears. As she plays a variety of musical styles, she captures your attention with the music and feeling she puts into every song.

Dail in her music style has incredible control over her breath, and her fingering on the flutes. Dail portrays her music well, whether it be at a Pow-Wow, Gathering, Mother's Day Concert, or other event.

In 2005, Dail has been honored by Jesse Red Horse, David Searching Owl, Steven Standing Owl, Norman the pan flute player, Richard Soaring Owl, ( me ) - Kim White Feather, and Peter Newell - Chief of the NH Inter-Tribal Native American Council, as well as many others that she has met throughout the summer that are not listed here at the Pow-Wows that she has attended, and played her music at..

Also, while attending Pow-Wows this year, Dail has been gifted the name of Dragonfly by several elders from different tribal nations at two different times and locations.

I personally have had the honor of playing flutes with her, at several Pow-Wow venues in 2005, and have always been pleasantly surprised with Dail, and her musical talents.

I look forward to playing flutes with her again in the future, where ever we may meet.

Yatahay Dail,

Spirit Wind Records was formed out of our production company Raven Hawk Productions. We have a multitude of things we do. We represent many Native Artist and their music. We promote their music throughout the country. We also book some concerts as well as manage some artist. If you look on our site under the testimonials you will see what some of our artist are saying about me and my company. As for the Silver Arrow Award. We decided a few years ago that we needed to recognize our artist in some way. We came up with this award for just that purpose. Many of our artist regard this as a very honorable award and are honored to receive it. We make no promises to any of our artist we just work hard to get their names and music out to the nation. We have some contacts with Native American radio stations we send them demos and get airplay for our artist. After speaking with our Awards committee this evening it has been decided that you too deserve an award. So at this time it is with great pleasure that we award you a 2005 Silver Arrow Award.

Respectfully Donald Blackfox
